Postpartum trauma THERAPIST IN Indianapolis,IN
IT’S TIME TO TURN THAT FOCUS TOWARDS YOU.
JESSICA CHANDLER, LMHC, PMH-C
You're here because you are ready to break the cycle.
You're tired of saying yes when you really mean no. Your obligations are overwhelming. You never feel accomplished or that you are doing enough for your partner, family, or kids. You find yourself repeating the same cycles ending in self-doubt and overwhelm. You can’t remember a time you weren’t in survival mode. What if you had the skills to help you create real change?
You’re in the right spot!
Hi! I’m Jessica Chandler!
I’m a queer witchy therapist located on the southside of Indianapolis. I’m a cisgender white bisexual female. I specialize in helping young adults and parents heal from intergenerational trauma, feeling misaligned in themselves, and chronic negative self-talk.
In therapy, you will learn strategies to bring you home to your body again, adapt to your own pace versus someone else's, and create a relationship with self-compassion. I have personal experience with developmental trauma, postpartum anxiety, postpartum PTSD, and late-diagnosed ADHD. My journey has involved weaving therapy, science, herbal psychoeducation and spiritual components(I.e. reiki, tarot/Oracle, cycle synching) for own well-being. I now help others do the same.
How I work
At the core of my therapy is guiding clients home to themselves again, practicing self-compassion, and cultivating their true voice.
I am dedicated to helping people find their authentic voice in an affirming safe place. You have the ability to rewrite your story. It deserves to be heard and understood in a place that both challenges you and grounds you. I will often welcome you to session with your choice of a warm tea or coffee. A variety of fidgets and a blanket are within reach at all times.
Let’s talk about my clinical theories and how they come into your sessions. I interweave several theories such as Polyvagal Theory, Trauma-Informed Theory, Intergenerational Trauma Theory, Existential-Humanistic Theory, Transpersonal Theory, Ecopsychology, and Feminist/Anti-Oppressive Theory. So what does all this actually mean?
-
I want to welcome you to a space where you are seen—fully. Your queerness, neurodivergence, boundaries, complexity, and contradictions are not just allowed; they’re honored. From the very first point of contact, this entire process is shaped around affirming your truth and dismantling the pressures to perform or conform.
-
Because healing cannot happen in hypervigilance, we begin by tending to your nervous system. There’s no pressure to “get somewhere” fast. Whether you’re sipping tea, using fidgets, or pausing to breathe between words, our pace is intentionally slow and shaped by what regulation feels like for you. It is here where we begin to rebuild trust—in your body, in relationship, and in your right to move at your own rhythm.
-
We will gently examine the invisible threads that may be shaping your life: the generational patterns, inherited beliefs, and survival strategies that you have unknowingly adopted. Through compassion and curiosity, we explore how your family system and cultural context may have left you carrying more than your share—and begin to create new possibilities for the future.
-
This is not about fixing—it’s about returning. Therapy with me centers your capacity for meaning-making. Together, we hold space for the messiness of life, for your questions, your longings, your grief and hope. Even when things feel uncertain, we trust that your feelings and instincts are pointing toward something sacred: a homecoming to yourself.
-
We will often make space for the voice that often whispers beneath the noise—the part of you that knows. Whether through imagery, ritual, creativity, or silence, we welcome your inner guidance to emerge, helping you reconnect with the essence of who you are. This is where symptom relief meets spiritual integration.
-
And throughout it all, we recognize that you are not separate from the world around you. Your healing is interconnected with the earth, the seasons, and your place within the ecosystem of life. Whether we bring in nature metaphorically or literally, your connection to the land becomes a mirror for your healing—inviting reconnection, belonging, and rootedness.
HEre’s what I believe about therapy:
This isn't about becoming someone "different”. It’s about embracing your authentic true self.
Therapy can give perspective, aid in making authentic realizations about your own behaviors and celebrating your achievements.
The best investment you can make is in yourself.
To actively seek change is a gift. You are empowering your current and future self while also healing a past version of yourself.
You are inherently deserving of healthy, loving relationships with yourself.
I know that finding that compassionate voice is not easy, but I believe that you can with guidance and practice.
Get the support that’s right for you.

Complimentary Alternative Interventions (CAIs) help enhance the clinical theory to create holistic wellness. Chandler Counseling and Wellness offers serveral CAIs that are infused into therapy sessions (only if desired). Some of these modalities are:
Reiki: Reiki is a holistic energy healing practice that originated in Japan and is based on the belief that a universal life force energy—rei (universal) and ki (life energy)—flows through all living beings. When this energy becomes disrupted or imbalanced, it may impact physical, emotional, or spiritual well-being. Reiki aims to restore balance by supporting the body’s natural capacity for healing. In this practice, a trained Reiki practitioner serves as a conduit for this life force energy, channeling it through gentle hand placements either directly on the body or hovering just above it.
Tarot/Oracle Cards: Tarot and Oracle cards are decks of illustrated cards that use imagery, symbolism, and archetypes to prompt reflection, insight, and intuitive exploration. Unlike fortune-telling or predictive uses, in therapy these tools are used to support emotional awareness, personal growth, and connection to one’s inner world. Within this practice, Tarot and Oracle cards are not used to predict the future, but to explore themes, perspectives, and unconscious material that may be influencing the client’s current experience. The cards function as reflective tools—serving as mirrors for internal thoughts, emotions, patterns, and projections. Symbolic messages drawn from the imagery are explored collaboratively, with a focus on how they connect to the client’s lived experiences.
Crystal Healing: Crystal healing is a holistic, non-invasive modality that involves the use of crystals and gemstones to support physical, emotional, and energetic balance. Within this practice, crystals may be used in a variety of ways to enhance therapeutic work, especially when working with the body's energy centers, or chakras. Each crystal is believed to hold unique energetic properties that can influence the body, mind, and spirit in different ways.
